Senior DataBase Engineer/ DB Architect

Our customer is the leading advisor in B2B engagement globally from Toronto, Canada.

Their relationship benchmarking capabilities have become the gold standard for measuring business-to-business engagement in over 40+ countries for over 30 years.

We are developing a solution that collects extensive quantitative and qualitative feedback across various critical performance drivers built upon a strategic framework that helps businesses navigate the intricate partner ecosystem. It is a simple and efficient engagement process for ongoing measurement that enables businesses to set realistic goals and make improvements based on actionable insights. 

 

Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in DataBase Engineering
  • Hands-on experience managing complex data platforms both with internal and external partner teams;
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or other SQL databases;
  • Thorough knowledge of software architecture and relational data;
  • Strong knowledge of marketplace trends for data and data analytics solutions and product offerings;
  • Practical experience with databases and data warehouses for transactional and analytic applications;
  • Experience dealing with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, recommending; alternative technical and solution approaches
  • Ability to drive technical excellence, pushing innovation and quality.

Would be a plus:

  • Experience with our technology stack (Angular-Java-PostgreSQL, Bash scripts);
  • Standard development tools (Maven, Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes etc.);
  • Knowledge of other industry tools and technologies like MongoDB, Birst, Kafka, Nifi;
  • Business intelligence and data visualization tools, such as Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik platform.
Responsibilities:
  • Database architecture and design;
  • Database administration and configuration;
  • Transaction management;
  • Lock management;
  • Formulation, socialization, and championing a clear data strategy with a strong client-first focus;
  • Designing data warehouses, data marts, and governance frameworks and leading a team to implement the designs;
  • Proactivity in defining data needs, roles, and practices required in the business and can clearly articulate / communicate their value;
  • Exploring commercial opportunities in the data to create new and better experiences and products for our clients;
  • Mentoring other team members to improve their data analytics and technical skills.
