Trainee FE Developer/Content maker

Our client is a nonprofit dedicated to providing every child with the finest education through the development of high-quality adaptive software plus support for families and educators. The software has been proven effective in closing achievement gaps and teaching literacy skills with lasting results, and the greatest impacts have been seen in at-risk populations. Instruction guides students from Learning to Read to Reading to Learn, effectively bridging that crucial transition as they progress from building literacy skills to reading independently. Key math and science concepts are also introduced in this literacy-rich learning environment.

About the Role:

  • In this position, your primary responsibility will be creating games using a specialized game constructor. You’ll have the opportunity to build engaging and interactive experiences, contributing directly to developing educational games for young learners.
  • Additionally, you’ll assist with asset management, including gathering and organizing audio, video, and image files, optimizing them for use in the games, and providing basic editing support.
  • This role is ideal for someone passionate about game development and eager to learn asset management in a supportive environment. Get ready to gain valuable hands-on experience and contribute to creating fun learning adventures for our young players!

The contract-based involvement is 3-6 months. 

Requirements:

  • Experience with HTML, CSS, or WordPress (both commercial or non-commercial).
  • Experience and knowledge in using version control systems (Git) and the deployment process.
  • Development and/or Testing experience
  • Experience in audio and video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Pro Tools, or similar.
  • Experience in Adobe Photoshop
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail.Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Understanding or experience in using Content Management Systems
  • Experience with Agile Scrum process and Backlog Management and systems such as Jira and Confluence
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field, such as web development, digital media, multimedia production, or a related discipline.
  • English: from Upper-intermediate (B2) level

     

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python) and multimedia authoring tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Create games using a specialized game constructor
  • Manage asset file formats, conversions, and optimizations to ensure
  • compatibility across platforms and devices.
  • Perform audio and video editing tasks using industry-standard software.
  • Edit and enhance audio by adjusting levels, removing noise, and applying
  • effects as necessary.
  • Edit and enhance video by trimming, adding transitions, applying filters, and
  • optimizing visual quality.
  • Conduct quality checks on audio and video assets to ensure they meet technical
  • and production standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with IT and technical teams to implement necessary tools and
  • systems to support workflow optimization.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliverables.

What we offer:

Working hours
Working hours are limited to 40 hours per week (8 hours per day).

Annual Leave
15 days unpaid leave a year, after passing the probationary period.

Sick Leave
10 unpaid days (without medical authorization).
