Workrise is an Austin-based workforce management solution that matches contract workers with energy companies operating in the upstream, renewables, midstream, and downstream sectors across the U.S. More than 5,000 contractors and over 250 energy companies use the platform. Workrise currently operates in more than 70 metro areas in the United States.

Challenge

The startup has been scaling rapidly and trying to conquer new markets to secure growth. In 2019 Workrise raised $300M to expand its reach to the renewable energy market. Therefore, the company required additional development resources.

Our engagement:

Our engineers extended an in-house development team working on a staffing management system. Our specialists joined the NodeJs and React divisions on the project and also reinforced the technical support team. The team working on this project has expanded from 1 engineer to 11 and still grows.

We have been working on the client’s projects for a year and a half. During this period, the client has received: 

  1. Technical reinforcement of the team

Growing at such a rapid pace client talent infrastructure wasn’t equipped to support that velocity. We were able to support the hyper-scale by providing engineers with the needed seniority level and technical background. 

  1. Flexibility in the onboarding process

We take care of the onboarding process for every new engineer joining the client team. Our managers are responsible for recruiting the new specialists needed for the project, while the client can concentrate on building new verticals. The client gets maximum flexibility from the cooperation. If there is a need for additional resources – we provide specialists in approximately a month. 

 

  1. Strong technical expertise in NodeJS and React

During our cooperation, the team has grown from 1 to 11 engineers. Following the project needs, we provided senior-level specialists for its engineering and product divisions.

  1. Managing the administrative side of the work 

The client leans heavily on us when it comes to the bureaucratic side of the work. Our managers cover all the bookkeeping and HR-related errands. We are responsible for invoicing, staffing, organization of work, vacations and sick leaves, communication and engineers professional growth.

  1. Adapting to the client software development approaches 

Our engineers adapt and learn the client approach to software development and manage to stay productive within the client development methodology.
