Senior Software Engineer (Kotlin+Kafka)

Highload digital platform which gives big energy companies tools and teams to grow faster — allowing operators, vendors, and contractors to operate more efficiently.
The company was founded in 2014. Now it combines more than 100 talented specialists and is one of the fastest-growing companies in Austin, Texas. Also, they have an office in Belfast, Ireland.
The initial focus is on oil&gas, solar, and wind energy.

The team on our side: 9 Senior Engineers, Account Manager.

Requirements:

-Proficient with a JVM Language (Kotlin or Java, Scala, Groovy, etc.);
-7+ years of relevant development experience (full software life cycle — building product);
-Solid exposure to messaging/streaming technology (Kafka or Pulsar, NATS, Rabbit, etc.);
-Delivery focussed with solid exposure to SOA and/or Microservices environment;
-Hands-on knowledge building on cloud service platforms (ideally GCP, or AWS, Azure);
-Experience partnering and collaborating with remote teams (across different time zones);
-Proven track record in learning new technologies and applying that learning quickly.

Some of the things that would be nice to have:

-Familiar with containerization and Kubernetes (a plus, but not required);
-Practical production knowledge of datastores (relational, document, graph, search index);
-Kafka — Streaming API, Connect, ksqlDB, Monitoring
-ML experience building classifications and NLP (like fastest, Pandas);
-Building search & analytics engines (with Elasticsearch, Solr, Lucene, etc.).
