Senior AI Engineer

Hybrid, Remote
Ukraine
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AI Specialist to design, develop, and deploy advanced AI solutions, including AI agents and multi-agent systems, leveraging the latest Generative AI technologies. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in LLMs, NLP, and modern AI frameworks, with a strong background in agent-to-agent (A2A) communication protocols and multi-agent orchestration.

$1000 welcome bonus

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with 3+ years focused on production-grade AI/ML engineering.
  • Proven experience building and deploying multi-agent systems or complex agentic AI applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of inter-agent communication models (centralised/decentralised) and protocols.
  • Expertise in microservice architecture and building RESTful/gRPC APIs.
  • Expert proficiency in Python (or similar modern language) for AI development.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS for MLOps and application deployment (e.g., Lambda, SageMaker, Bedrock, ECR, EKS, Step Functions).
  • Good grasp of containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CDK.
  • Strong understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
  • At least Upper intermediate English level.

Nice to Have Skills and Qualities (Desirable)

  • We’re not just looking for a coder; we’re after a resourceful engineer and a technical advocate who can shape our future.
  • Advanced Data Structures: Experience with knowledge graphs and vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, ChromaDB) for sophisticated agent memory and long-term contextual management.
  • Full Stack AI: Familiarity with the full AI lifecycle, including model development, evaluation, and fine-tuning using frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow, to better support Data Science colleagues.
  • Ethical AI and Governance: A keen awareness and practical experience in implementing AI ethics, bias mitigation, and safety guardrails (e.g., AWS Guardrails for Amazon Bedrock) in autonomous systems.
  • High-Performance Computing: Experience with optimising model serving latency and managing compute costs for large-scale, high-throughput agent interactions.
  • Academic Rigour: A strong academic background in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, demonstrating a solid theoretical foundation.
  • Engineering Leadership: Demonstrable grit and adaptability—a proven ability to self-start, overcome significant technical hurdles, and champion new, emerging research and tooling in a rapidly evolving field.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management: Exceptional aptitude for explaining complex agentic design and technical trade-offs to business stakeholders and non-technical colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Architect Multi-Agent Systems: Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of the multi-agentic AI solution, defining agent roles, responsibilities, and the overall system architecture.
  • Develop and Implement Inter-Agent Protocols: Establish and enforce robust inter-agent communication protocols (e.g., message brokers, REST/gRPC APIs, or specialised protocols like FIPA, MCP, A2A) to ensure seamless and efficient collaboration and coordination between autonomous agents.
  • Microservices Development: Build and maintain scalable, high-performance microservices to house individual agent logic and tools, integrating seamlessly with existing enterprise systems.
  • AWS Cloud Deployment: Leverage AWS-centric services (e.g., Amazon Bedrock, Lambda, SageMaker, EKS, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS) to deploy, orchestrate, and manage the multi-agent system securely and at scale.
  • Tool Integration: Equip agents with the necessary tools and APIs (internal and external) to perform complex tasks, including data retrieval, real-world actions, and system updates.
  • Beyond Java: Work proficiently with multiple programming languages, with a focus on Python for AI/ML components, alongside other relevant non-Java languages to meet architectural needs.
  • MLOps and Governance: Implement best-practice MLOps/AIOps for agents, focusing on continuous monitoring, logging, governance, and maintaining a robust deployment pipeline (CI/CD).
  • Mentorship and Collaboration: Mentor junior engineers and collaborate effectively with Data Scientists, Software Architects, and business stakeholders.
