Senior Manual QA Engineer
The customer is the world leader in the design, manufacturing, sales, and operations of wind tunnel systems for indoor skydiving.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of commercial experience as a manual QA,
- Solid understanding of core QA concepts,
- Able to operate in a balance between working independently to solve a problem and knowing when and who to ask for help,
- Able to manage their own time effectively, prioritize their workload well, be aware when blocking others and unlock them,
- Understanding of modern software development methodologies: knowledge of Agile/Kanban,
- Strong defect tracking and reporting abilities,
- Works well under pressure and meets deadlines,
- At least an Upper-Intermediate level of English proficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Write meaningful test cases following best practices,
- Contribute to the design of new features, capabilities, and components,
- Proactively communicate to their team what they are working on why, how it’s going, and what help they need,
- Provide positive and constructive feedback,
- When given a task with unclear or conflicting requirements they know when and how to ask for clarification and ensure that all assumptions are vetted before work starts to reduce the need for re-work,
- Work for the team focuses on tasks that contribute to team goals,
- Work with engineers and non-engineers to improve new and existing features iteratively,
- Estimating and developing the test strategies,
- Checking and reviewing QA artifacts,
- Tracking the new requirements for the project,
- Bug reporting, acting as a QA owner for tickets,
- Ensuring the content and structure of all testing documents.
