Subject Matter Expert (Salesforce Marketing Cloud)

We are seeking an experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing current implementations, identifying areas for improvement, and executing enhancements. This role requires a combination of strategic advisory skills and hands-on technical ability, alongside the capability to mentor junior team members. The SME will collaborate closely with marketing and data teams, translating business needs into actionable tasks and ensuring best practices are followed.

 

About the project: Austin-based company that offers dynamic and time-based pricing solutions to live entertainment organizations, enabling them to gather information and adjust ticket prices relative to demand. The company’s solutions are designed to manage more inventory and price more accurately with fewer resources, maximizing the potential of all your tickets. They deliver unprecedented pricing and sales data into a single location, providing insights and driving results. The system consists of a couple of UI sub-projects for promoters, admin etc., and complex logic on the back end.

 

Tech Stack: Ant Design, Spring, MySQL, Hibernate, AWS, Java, React, Jenkins.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an SME or similar role with Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce Marketing Cloud architecture, including Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio, and Data Extensions.
  • Ability to assess, design, and optimize marketing automation workflows and integrations.
  • Hands-on experience with implementing technical improvements and resolving issues.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience mentoring and guiding junior team members.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Knowledge of data management, segmentation, and personalization strategies.
  • Familiarity with marketing strategies and how technology supports marketing objectives.
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assess existing Salesforce Marketing Cloud architecture, configurations, and workflows.
  • Identify opportunities for optimization and implement improvements.
  • Provide hands-on execution of changes and enhancements.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members to ensure consistent delivery of improvements.
  • Act as a liaison between marketing and data teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Offer strategic advisory and guidance to marketing and data teams on Salesforce Marketing Cloud best practices and considerations.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of processes, configurations, and best practices.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
