KDB+/q Software Developer

Fintech project, the purpose of which is to create and maintain banking platforms. Users are bank employees, which is about 10,000. Various platforms are used to serve clients of the bank who would like to invest their money in one of Canada’s largest banks and also internal employees of the bank.
Our future candidate will work on developing new features in the qTK framework to enable the integration of enterprise applications/data structure with front-office KDB+ applications/data sources.

Requirements:

  • Strong hands-on experience with KDB+/q with at least 2+ years of recent experience.
  • Understanding of the KDB+ technology ecosystem.
  • Good working knowledge of Linux environments and scripting languages such as Bash, and Perl.
  • Experience with Agile methodology and tools such as SVN, Git, Jenkins, Nexus, and Jira.
  • English-Upper-Inermediate.

Nice to have:

  • Working knowledge of Python/R/C/C++ is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of big data technologies.
  • Experience with streaming / complex event processing software packages (StreamBase, Storm, Esper, etc.) is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with business and technology stakeholders to build new and maintain existing libraries and functions.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of existing analytical libraries and help broaden current offerings.
  • Identify and implement solutions to optimize performance and maintain fast query execution.
  • Building enterprise KDB+ applications interfacing with different technologies like C/C++, Python, etc.
