Middle Data Analyst

You’ll be working on a critical project for a leading Canadian bank, focusing on optimizing data reporting and operational processes. Your role will involve maintaining key reporting workflows, designing new reports, and ensuring data accuracy. This project offers a chance to apply your SQL and reporting tools expertise within a dynamic financial environment.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in business and reporting solutions, preferably within the wealth/investment management sector.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and experience with reporting tools such as Tableau, Python, or Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data analysis (functions, pivot tables).
  • Understanding of Data-Warehousing concepts, including Data-Marts and Data Governance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (B2 level required)

Responsibilities:

Operational Analyst (50%):

  • Support, maintain, and execute daily and monthly reporting processes, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with business service level agreements.
  • Manage scheduled and ad-hoc reporting, investigating and resolving operational issues as they arise.
  • Respond to daily business unit inquiries and requests promptly and efficiently.

Reporting Analyst (50%):

  • Review and analyze business or system changes that impact reporting processes, conducting associated testing.
  • Design, code, and build reports using best practices, including unit testing and post-deployment verification.
  • Define business requirements and specifications for new reports, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Provide consultative technical and business support to management and decision-making committees.
  • Document processes and procedures according to company standards, ensuring clarity and compliance.
