August 2025 Ukrainian IT company Sombra has officially joined the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. By joining this international network, the company has committed to aligning its operations with the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.

Founded over 12 years ago, Sombra has grown from a local team of engineers into a trusted global engineering and AI consulting partner. Currently, the company assists businesses in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Middle East, and throughout Europe, helping them address complex technological challenges and transform ideas into successful outcomes.

Sombra specializes in software development, IT consulting, AI implementation, and legacy system modernization across industries, including financial services, healthcare, logistics, energy, e-commerce, and education.

Through a range of social and environmental initiatives, Sombra promotes positive change by supporting local communities, investing in education, nurturing tech communities, and running its charitable initiative “Sombra for Ukraine”. The company also advances internal programs focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Creating value is our core principle. Since day one, we’ve built Sombra on the foundation of openness, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to making the world a better place. Joining the UN Global Compact is more than a symbolic step — it’s a reflection of our readiness to act.
